In a recent report, Defensa Central mentioned that Real Madrid are eager to sign Real Sociedad winger Mikel Oyarzabal. It has been stated that Los Blancos have identified the Spanish wide player as a transfer target next year.
Oyarzabal’s Impressive Record In Spanish Football
The 26-year-old has enjoyed a decent campaign at the Spanish club as he has put in a run of impressive displays for them in the final third. Oyarzabal has scored five times and earned one assist in 11 matches for Real Sociedad this season on all fronts.
The Spanish wide player has caught the eye at times by averaging 1.2 shots and 0.4 key passes per game in La Liga. He has even distributed possession relatively well after making 76.9% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2028 which would make it difficult for Los Blancos to get him on board on a cut-price deal next year.
What Will Oyarzabal Add To Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti’s Side?
Oyarzabal can shoot the ball with power from long range and is a decent dribbler with the ball. He is a technically gifted footballer who also works hard on the defensive end of the field.
The Spanish talent has also got the vision to create a few decent chances in the final third when he is playing well on the pitch. He is primarily a left-winger but can also function as a right-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if asked to do so.
We can expect Oyarzabal to add more firepower to Real Madrid‘s attack. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Thus, it makes sense for Carlo Ancelotti to orchestrate a move to bring Oyarzabal to the Spanish capital when the transfer window opens at the start of January. At 26, the Spaniard will only get better with each season which makes him a worthy target for the Madrid giants to pursue next year. He already knows La Liga well by now and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Bernabeu.
