In a recent report, The Daily Mirror revealed that Newcastle United are hoping to sign Arsenal talent Emile Smith Rowe on loan. It has been claimed that the Magpies are eyeing a move to recruit the English playmaker on a loan deal this January.
Smith Rowe’s Lack Of Game Time At Arsenal
The 23-year-old has served as a rotational piece under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta during this campaign. Smith Rowe has participated in just six matches for the North London outfit but has failed to find the back of the net or bag an assist for them this season.
The English sensation has proven his worth at times but has seen himself firmly behind Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard in Arteta’s pecking order. Therefore, the player has every reason to opt for a change of scenery in search of more game time next year.
Smith Rowe’s current deal at the Emirates Stadium will expire in the summer of 2026. Thus, it makes sense for Newcastle United to arrange a loan move for him as they would struggle to convince Arsenal to part ways with their prized asset permanently this winter.
Should Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe Go For Smith Rowe?
Smith Rowe is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few promising runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the eye to play a killer pass in the final third and can even strike the ball purely from long range.
Smith Rowe mainly operates in the number ten position but can even fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-winger if told to do so by his manager. However, the lack of playing time has seen his form take a hit. Maybe, a change of scenery could help the player get his career back on track.
Smith Rowe will inject more goals and creativity into Newcastle boss Eddie Howe’s attack. He has what it takes to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Tyneside club this season.
Smith Rowe might even help the Magpies compete across all fronts next year. Hence, Howe should think about going in with a loan offer for him when the transfer window commences at the start of January.
