According to a report from Mirror, Liverpool have set their primary objective to secure Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane as a replacement for Mohamed Salah. Moreover, the Reds are prepared to break their current transfer record of £80m, set with Darwin Nunez, to acquire the services of the German winger.
While Real Madrid have also shown interest in the 27-year-old former Manchester City player, the Anfield club’s manager Jurgen Klopp is keen on bringing Sane back to the Premier League, aiming for a landmark deal.
Sane’s Impressive Run Of Form Bayern Munich So Far This Season
Leroy Sane is enjoying a rich run of form for the Bavarians as he has produced a string of impressive displays on the right side of their attack. The 27-year-old forward has found the back of the net on seven occasions while making nine appearances for the German outfit across all fronts.
He has been menace for the opposition defenders as he is averaging 3.3 shots, 2.1 key passes and 5.1 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. On top of that, he has been accurate with his ball distribution up front after completing 82.8% of his attempted passes in the German first division(stats via whoscored).
With Sane’s existing contract at Allianz Arena set to run until the summer of 2025, the Merseyside club might consider an attempt to bring him to Anfield at the conclusion of this season if Mohamed Salah decides to depart.
Is He A Decent Fit For Liverpool Boss Jurgen Klopp?
Leroy Sane is no stranger to the Premier League, having previously excelled with Manchester City before his move to Bayern Munich. The 27-year-old German winger possesses an electrifying blend of speed, dribbling ability, and a keen eye for goal. These qualities make him an attractive option for any top club, and Liverpool is no exception.
Sane’s ability to play on either flank and even as an attacking midfielder provides Jurgen Klopp with a versatile asset. This versatility can be invaluable, especially during congested fixture schedules or in cases of injuries.
Sane has consistently demonstrated an eye for goal, and his addition to the squad could add more fire power to Klopp’s attacking department at Anfield. Additionally, at 27, Sane is still in his prime years as a footballer, with room for growth and development. The Reds can harness his talent and mold him into an even more potent force over the coming seasons. Hence, he could be a decent fit for Klopp and also a good replacement for Mohamed Salah.
