In a recent report, Fichajes have stated that Liverpool are facing stiff competition for Borussia Dortmund starlet Youssoufa Moukoko. It has been stated that the Reds will have to rival Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid in the race to land the German sensation next year.
Moukoko’s Lack Of Game Time In German Football This Season
Moukoko has struggled to gain regular playing time at Signal Iduna Park this season. He has made just four appearances for the German club in the league but has failed to find the back of the net for them thus far.
The German forward has made all of his appearances in the Bundesliga as a substitute. Hence, the youngster might be keen on a move away from the German club in search of more first-team chances next year.
His current contract at Borussia Dortmund will expire in the summer of 2026. Hence, it won’t be easy for the Reds to sign him on the cheap this January or at the end of this season.
Liverpool Are Facing Stiff Competition For Moukoko: Is He Worth The Fight?
Moukoko excels at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in on-target. The German attacker can be a streaky scorer in front of the opponent’s goal when he is playing regularly and with confidence on the pitch. Moukoko can even make a few driving runs with the ball. However, he is still quite raw and has to find a way to be more consistent on the offensive end of the field.
At 18, Moukoko has the potential to become a generational talent as long as he continues to improve with each year and would be a great acquisition for Liverpool in the long run.
Jurgen Klopp could be the ideal man to oversee his development and unlock the best out of him over the next decade. Hence, he will be well worth the fight, so the Reds should focus on getting a deal done for him this January or next summer.
Moukoko has what it takes to serve as an ideal understudy to Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota at Anfield next season. With all things considered, Klopp would be wise to launch a move to bring the German whizkid to Merseyside in 2024.
