Manchester City entertained Brighton and Hove Albion at the Etihad Stadium earlier today as they looked to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Mancunian giants made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the seventh-minute when Julian Alvarez found the back of the net. Erling Haaland doubled Man City’s advantage just 12 minutes later as Pep Guardiola‘s men went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.
Ansu Fati pulled a goal back for the visitors but Man City hung on to their narrow lead and earned a hard-fought 2-1 win at the Etihad.

Foden managed to engineer a few promising chances for his teammates but there was no goal for him.
CM: Julian Alvarez – 7.5/10
The Argentine talent had a few exciting moments in the final third and managed to score early in the game for his team.

He made two good chances in the opponent’s half but failed to pose a threat in the final third.

Doku made a handful of dangerous runs on the left flank and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
ST: Erling Haaland – 7.5/10
Haaland had a few bright moments in the game and managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 19th minute.
