In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Arsenal are planning to use Gabriel Jesus as makeweight for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are eager to seal a move to bring the Nigerian striker to North London next year.
Osimhen’s Excellent Record In Serie A This Season
Osimhen is enjoying another impressive campaign at the Naples club as he has put in a run of productive displays for them in the final third. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net on six occasions and earned one assist in ten matches for Napoli this season in all competitions.
The Nigeria international has led the line well and deserves credit for averaging 4.1 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has even linked up play well with his teammates up top, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 75% in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the Naples club will run out in the summer of 2025. Therefore, the Gunners will have to make a good offer if they want to win the race to sign Osimhen next summer.
Is Osimhen A Dream Option For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?
Osimhen can find a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He is a deadly finisher in the final third and can even create the odd chance for his teammates in the opponent’s half. The Nigerian talent is a powerful runner with the ball as well and can use his strong 1.86m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels. However, he needs to work on improving his passing accuracy up top.
We can expect Osimhen to bring a lot of goals to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta‘s attack. He would even serve as an upgrade over Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah with the pair struggling to be consistent with their productivity in the Premier League this season.
At 24, Osimhen has his best years ahead of him. He could be a success story at the Emirates Stadium if Arteta can manage to get a deal done for him. All in all, Osimhen would be a dream option for the Gunners to consider next year.
