West Ham United will clash heads with Freiburg at the Stade Europa-Park this Thursday evening as they look to secure a win on the road in the UEFA Europa League. The Hammers earned an impressive 2-0 victory over Sheffield United recently which will give them a lot of confidence ahead of this midweek clash in Europe.
David Moyes will stick with his favoured 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first XI for this game. Mohammed Kudus and Said Benrahma will both get a chance to impress from the start of this contest.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Freiburg
Defence
Lukasz Fabianski will operate in goal for the Hammers as he hopes to earn a clean sheet away from home. Kurt Zouma will resume his defensive partnership with Konstantinos Mavropanos at the centre of the West Ham backline as they focus on keeping things solid at the back throughout the game.
Thilo Kehrer will fill in as the right-back while Emerson Palmieri hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Nayef Aguerd will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse will anchor the midfield for West Ham as they try to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Said Benrahma, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta will function just ahead of them as part of Moyes’ attack. All three of them need to be at the top of their game if the Hammers are to secure a convincing win this week.
Jarrod Bowen and Pablo Fornals will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Michail Antonio will spearhead West Ham’s attack up top. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet versus Freiburg this Thursday evening.
Danny Ings will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
