Manchester City will lock horns with Red Bull Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena this Wednesday night as they look to secure a positive result on the road in the UEFA Champions League. Pep Guardiola‘s men suffered a shock 2-1 loss away at Wolverhampton Wanderers recently. Hence, they would be eager to bounce back by putting in a good showing in midweek.
Guardiola will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make some changes to his first team for this game. Both Josko Gvardiol and Rodri are expected to play from the start of this contest versus Leipzig.
4-2-3-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face RB Leipzig
Defence
Ederson will operate in between the sticks for the Mancunian club after shipping in a couple of goals in his last appearance. Ruben Dias will function alongside Manuel Akanji at the centre of Man City’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Kyle Walker will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Josko Gvardiol hopes to put in a solid display as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Nathan Ake will be available for selection on the bench as he provides cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Mateo Kovacic and Rodri will function as the holding midfielders as they focus on establishing their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Jeremy Doku, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden will operate just ahead of them as part of Man City’s attack. All three of them would be eager to create some clear-cut chances in the final third.
Jack Grealish, Oscar Bobb and Matheus Nunes will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Erling Haaland will lead the charge for the Mancunian outfit up top. The Norway international failed to get his name on the scoresheet last weekend, so we can expect him to be hungry to find the back of the net versus Leipzig in midweek.
