In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Tottenham Hotspur are planning to move in for Juventus ace Gleison Bremer. It has been claimed that Spurs are hoping to acquire the services of the Brazilian centre-back in the January transfer window.
Bremer’s Impressive Form At The Allianz Stadium This Season
The 26-year-old is having a solid campaign at the Turin club as he put in a few impressive displays at the heart of their backline. Bremer has participated in five matches for Juve so far this season in Serie A.
The Brazilian defensive ace has been a rock at the back based on his average of 1.6 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 3.2 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has also been excellent when distributing possession from inside his half after completing 88.1% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Italian football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, it won’t be easy for Spurs to get him on board on a cut-price deal next year.
Is Bremer The Right Fit For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?
Bremer is a tough-tackling defender who can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his team on the defensive end of the pitch. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot. Standing at 1.88m, Bremer can use his strong frame to win his fair share of 50-50 duels in the air.
The Brazilian talent is proficient at playing his way out from inside his half. Hence, he would be a good fit for Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s brand of football.
We can expect Bremer to inject more bite and steel into the North London club‘s defence. He might even help Spurs challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League next year.
At 26, Bremer is about to enter his prime soon which makes him a worthy target for Tottenham to pursue in the upcoming winter transfer window. However, he is on a long-term contract at Juventus, so Postecoglu will have to launch a big offer if he wants to lure him to the English capital this January.
