Real Madrid were quiet for most of the summer transfer window as they managed to do their business early. Los Blancos brought in five new players this summer in the form of Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, Fran Garcia, Kepa Arrizabalaga (loan) and Joselu (loan) [via transfermarkt].
Real Madrid’s Summer Signings Reviewed
Jude Bellingham
Bellingham was Real Madrid’s best acquisition this summer. He joined from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth around €103m.
Bellingham has already begun to showcase his quality at the Madrid club after banging in five goals and securing one assist in four appearances for them in La Liga.
The England international will be expected to have another majestic campaign and could help Los Blancos challenge for the La Liga title next year.
Arda Guler
Real Madrid opted to sign Arda Guler from Fenerbahce on a €20m deal. At 18, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in Spanish football. Still, there is no denying that Guler will be a prospect to watch out for at the Madrid club.
Fran Garcia
Ancelotti managed to land Fran Garcia from Rayo Vallecano on a cut-price deal worth in the region of €5m. He has done well to establish himself as Real Madrid’s first-choice left-back for this campaign.
Kepa Arrizabalaga
Real Madrid made the loan acquisition of Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea following Thibaut Courtois last month. He will now be expected to perform at his best in the injury absence of the Belgian keeper.
Joselu
Los Blancos decided to add more depth to their squad by signing Joselu on loan from Espanyol. Ancelotti will probably use him off the bench more often than not this season.
Real Madrid’s Notable Summer Departures
Antonio Blanco – Alaves for €4m
Alvaro Odriozola – Real Sociedad for €3m
Karim Benzema – free transfer
Marco Asensio – free transfer
Mariano Diaz – free transfer
Has Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Done Enough In The Market?
Real Madrid began their transfer window business with a bang with the acquisition of Jude Bellingham who has already begun to show what he is capable of in La Liga.
Fran Garcia is also good enough to start for Los Blancos every week. The arrivals of Joselu, Arda Guler and Kepa Arrizabalaga will definitely add more depth to their squad. However, it remains to be seen whether Ancelotti’s men can challenge for multiple trophies this season.
