Marvel’s Impressive Rise In The Spanish Capital
Marvel came through the youth ranks of Rayo Vallecano before joining Real Madrid as a teenager. He managed to break into the Real Madrid Castilla side and established himself as an important player for them recently. The Casablanca-born defender has made 37 appearances for them thus far, scoring one goal across all competitions.
The Spanish prospect has been training with Carlo Ancelotti’s first XI before this international break due to Eder Militao’s long-term injury.
At the moment, Marvel is in line to be Real Madrid’s fourth-choice option for the centre-back position this season as he is set to serve as a back-up to David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Nacho Fernandez.
Thus, it made a lot of sense for Los Blancos to secure Marvel’s long-term future by tying him down to a new deal this summer.
Marvel Extends His Contract With Real Madrid Until 2026: Is He A Star In The Making?
Marvel is a gifted defender who can sense the danger well and can earn possession back for his team on the defensive end of the field. He doesn’t mind getting stuck in with a few crunching tackles to make life tough for the opposition attackers.
The Spanish youngster doesn’t hesitate to clear his lines when needed and is even proficient at playing his way out from the back. Standing at 1.84m, he can be a strong presence in the air as well.
At 20, Marvel is still quite raw and would need time to prove himself in top-flight football. Still, there is no denying that he is a star in the making at the Madrid club as long as he continues to improve his game with each season.
Ancelotti has the experience to nurture Marvel into a future star at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Hence, it was only logical for Real Madrid to tie the Spanish whizkid down to a long-term contract as he could be a valuable asset for them in the future.
