In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Napoli centre-forward Victor Osimhen. It has been stated that Los Blancos are eager to seal a big-money move for the Nigerian striker next year.
Osimhen’s Excellent Form In Italian Football This Season
Osimhen has made an electric start to this campaign after putting in a few productive displays for Napoli in the final third. The 24-year-old has found the back of the net three times in three league appearances for the Naples outfit this season.
The Nigerian sensation has led the line well and deserves a ton of credit for averaging 6.0 shots, 1.7 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has also distributed possession relatively well in the opponent’s half, based on his pass completion rate of 78.6% in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Osimhen is under contract at Napoli until the summer of 2025. Hence, Real Madrid could potentially land him for a reduced fee at the end of this campaign.
Will Osimhen Be A Dream Option For Real Madrid?
Osimhen can create a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in on-target. He has proven himself to be a deadly finisher in front of the opponent’s goal over the past 12 months. Standing at 1.86m, Osimhen can use his strong frame to win his fair share of aerial duels in the final third.
The Nigeria international can also create some decent openings for his teammates up top. He is even proficient at making a handful of powerful runs in behind the opposition backline.
At the moment, Osimhen is playing some of his best football. Hence, it makes sense for Real Madrid to move in for him next summer.
The Nigerian sensation has what it takes to add plenty of firepower to Carlo Ancelotti’s attack and could serve as an ideal replacement for Karim Benzema, who left the Madrid club earlier this year.
At 24, Osimhen has his peak years ahead of him. Thus, he would be a dream option for Los Blancos to consider in 2024. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Spanish capital.
