Chelsea will welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge as they still look to redeem themselves by picking up a win at home. The Blues will come into the match on the back of a scoreless draw against Brentford away at Vitality Stadium, so they will have to perform better in order to grab a win here.
Mauricio Pochettino will opt for a 4-3-3 formation and could make a few changes to the first XI for this game. Cole Palmer could be handed his first start to this season while Levi Colwill replaces Thiago Silva in the backline.
4-3-3 Chelsea Predicted XI Vs Aston Villa
Defence
Robert Sanchez will continue to function in between the sticks for the Blues after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Axel Disasi will form the customary centre-half partnership alongside Levi Colwill as they try to keep the Villans at bay during the game.
Ben Chilwell will fill in as the left-back while Malo Gusto looks to catch the eye as the right-back. Both of them will be given the freedom to make some overlapping runs out on the flanks.
Midfield
Enzo Fernandez and Lesley Ugochukwu will play as the holding midfielders as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park.
Cole Palmer will play right ahead of them as an advanced attacking midfielder as he tries to make a difference for the Blues in the final third.
Conor Gallagher will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to impress in the second half if required.
Attack
Raheem Sterling will make use of his pace as the right winger while Mykhailo Mudryk tries to produce an influential display on the opposite flank.
Nicolas Jackson will once again spearhead Chelsea’s attack on his own up top. He would be eager to find the back of the net and put his name on the scoresheet in this home encounter.
