According to a report from Mirror, Manchester United have decided not to acquire the services of free agent Anwar El Ghazi, despite rumours suggesting otherwise. El Ghazi, the former winger for Aston Villa and Everton, became available after mutually parting ways with PSV Eindhoven and was previously associated with a potential move to Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, Ten Hag is inclined to entrust young talents Facundo Pellistri and Alejandro Garnacho, who are eager to establish themselves in the football world. The Red Devils are not anticipated to secure any additional signings until the transfer window reopens in January.
El Ghazi’s Career So Far
Anwar El Ghazi, born on July 14, 1994, in Leiderdorp, Netherlands, to Moroccan parents, began his youth career with Alphense Boys and then joined PSV Eindhoven’s youth academy in 2007. He progressed through the PSV youth system, making his professional debut in 2012.
El Ghazi’s performances attracted top clubs, leading to his £10 million move to Aston Villa in 2016. After initial challenges, he became a regular in the Villa team. In 2018, he had a successful loan spell at Lille, scoring 10 goals in 26 games. He returned to Villa but struggled for regular playtime.
In January 2021, he joined Everton on loan, despite his efforts, Everton suffered relegation. El Ghazi returned to PSV Eindhoven in 2021, making a strong start. However, he fell out of favour and was transfer-listed in January 2023. He subsequently joined Galatasaray on loan, before his contract with PSV Eindhoven ended after the 2022-23 season, leaving him as a free agent.
Good Decision From Manchester United Boss Erik Ten Hag In Entrusting The Youngsters?
Ten Hag is a young manager who believes in giving young players a chance. He has a track record of developing young players, and he is confident that Pellistri and Garnacho can be successful at United.
Pellistri and Garnacho are both talented youngsters with bright futures ahead of them. They have been training with the first team for the past few weeks and have shown that they have the potential to make an impact at Old Trafford.
Playing for the first team will give Pellistri and Garnacho valuable experience of playing at the highest level. This will help them to develop their skills and learn from some of the best players in the world. Hence, ten Hag has done well to drop his pursuit of adding another forward to the ranks at Old Trafford.
