Newcastle United will entertain Brentford at St. James’ Park this Saturday as they try to collect all three points at home in the Premier League. The Magpies suffered a poor 3-1 loss away at Brighton and Hove Albion recently, so they would be eager to get back to winning ways in the league this weekend.
Eddie Howe will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some tweaks to his first XI for this game. Sean Longstaff and Jacob Murphy will both get a chance to impress from the start of this clash versus the Bees.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Brentford
Defence
Nick Pope will operate in goal for the Tyneside club after conceding three goals in his last appearance. Fabian Schar will function alongside Dan Burn at the centre of Newcastle’s backline as they try to keep things solid on the defensive end of the field.
Kieran Trippier will try to make a difference as the right-back while Matt Targett hopes to put in a solid display on the other side as the left-back. Howe will ask both of them to make some decent runs out on the flanks.
Lewis Hall will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will make up Newcastle’s midfield as they look to dominate the game and engineer some decent chances in the final third.
Sandro Tonali is unlikely to recover in time for this clash due to a muscle injury.
Attack
Anthony Gordon could get another opportunity to make a difference on the left-wing while Jacob Murphy hopes to catch the eye from the right.
Alexander Isak will lead the line for Newcastle up top. He failed to find the back of the net against Brighton and would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet versus Brentford this weekend.
Callum Wilson will have to be content with a place on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the Magpies are in need of a goal by then.
