Liverpool entertained Leicester City at Anfield earlier tonight as they looked to secure a good result at home in the third round of the EFL Cup. The Reds made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the third minute when Kasey McAteer found the back of the net. The Merseyside club failed to come up with a response and went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.
Cody Gakpo equalised for the Reds in the 48th minute with a tidy finish before Dominik Szoboszlai completed the turnaround with a powerful strike in the 70th minute. Diogo Jota killed the game off with a wonderful backheel in the 89th minute as the contest finished 3-1 in favour of Jurgen Klopp‘s men.
