Manchester United will face off against Burnley at Turk Moor in the Premier League this weekend as they look to bounce back with a win on the road. The Red Devils suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in midweek which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.
Erik ten Hag will once again opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a couple of tweaks to his starting XI for this game. Both Alejandro Garnacho and Scott McTominay are expected to play from the start while Facundo Pellistri and Christian Eriksen drop to the bench.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Andre Onana will function in between the sticks for the Red Devils after conceding four goals in his last appearance. Victor Lindelof will continue to operate alongside Lisandro Martinez at the centre of Man United’s backline in the injury absence of Raphael Varane, who is unlikely to recover in time for this clash.
Diogo Dalot will try to catch the eye as the right-back while Sergio Reguilon hopes to give a good account of himself as the left-back. Both of them would have to perform their defensive duties well if Man United are to keep a clean sheet this weekend.
Jonny Evans will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Scott McTominay and Casemiro will anchor the midfield for the Red Devils as they try to make life difficult for the opposition by winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park.
The gifted trio of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho will play just ahead of them as part of ten Hag’s attack.
Fernandes will carry most of the creative workload for Man United in the final third.
As mentioned earlier, both Christian Eriksen and Facundo Pellistri will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Rasmus Hojlund will spearhead Man United’s attack on his own up top. He managed to find the back of the net versus Bayern which will keep him in high spirits ahead of this league clash at Turf Moor.
Anthony Martial will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he awaits his chance to influence the game in the final quarter if the Red Devils are in need of a goal by then.
