Manchester City will lock horns with Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they look to bounce back with a win on the road in the Premier League. The Mancunian club suffered a surprise 1-0 loss away at Newcastle United in the EFL Cup recently, so they would be eager to get the three points this weekend.
Pep Guardiola will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a whole host of changes to his first XI for this game. Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and Phil Foden will all get a chance to play from the start of this league clash at the Molineux.
4-3-3 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves
Defence
Ederson will feature in goal for Man City after being rested in midweek. Manuel Akanji will function alongside Ruben Dias at the heart of Guardiola’s defence as they try to keep the Wolves attackers at bay during the 90 minutes.
Kyle Walker will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Nathan Ake hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them would get the license to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Josko Gvardiol will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic and Phil Foden will make up Guardiola’s midfield. Their main focus would be to establish their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park.
Oscar Bobb and Kalvin Phillips will drop to the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second half if required.
However, both Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne remain sidelined for this game.
Attack
Jeremy Doku will get a chance to catch the eye as the left-sided wide player while Julian Alvarez hopes to get his name on the scoresheet from the right flank.
Erling Haaland will lead the charge for Man City in the final third. He was an unused substitute against Newcastle and would be fresh for this contest at the Molineux.
Jack Grealish will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if Man City are in need of a goal by then.
