Everton will face off against Arsenal as they welcome them to Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon as they try to grind out a good result. The Toffees managed to earn a narrow 2-1 win away at Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Cup which will give them some confidence ahead of this clash. Prior to the international break, the Toffees claimed their first point of the season in a 2-2 draw with Sheffield United, which might give them some confidence going into this contest.
Sean Dyche will probably set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is poised to name a strong first XI for this game. Beto is expected to lead the line for Everton on his own up top while Jordan Pickford continues in goal.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted XI Vs Arsenal
Defence
Jordan Pickford will operate in between the sticks for Everton after conceding two goals in his last outing. James Tarkowski will once again play alongside Ben Godfrey at the centre of Dyche’s defence as they try make life difficult for the opposition attackers throughout the 90 minutes.
Ashley Young will look to impress as the left-back while Nathan Patterson hopes to give a good account of himself as the right-back. Dyche will ask both of them to keep things solid at the back and offer some cover from the wide areas to the front players.
Michael Keane will be named on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye will function as the holding midfielders as they focus on dominating possession at the centre of the park.
The talented trio of Arnaut Danjuma, Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Garner will play just ahead of them as part of Dyche’s attack. All three of them will have to link-up with each other well in the opponent’s half if Everton are to create enough chances to win this contest.
Attack
Beto will lead the charge for the Merseyside club on the attacking end of the field. He would be eager to find the back of the net after sealing a move from Udinese recently.
Neal Maupay will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if the Toffees are in need of a goal.
