According to a report from Manchester Evening News, Bayern Munich are considering making a move for manchester United forward Jadon Sancho in January. Previous reports had indicated that an offer from Saudi Arabia was on the table for the winger. Sancho enjoyed a highly successful stint in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, their arch rivals, before making his move to the Premier League.
Sancho’s Campaign With Manchester United Last Season
Jadon Sancho’s 2022/23 season with Manchester United was a mixed bag. He started the season brightly, scoring three goals in his first four appearances. However, he then went through a long period of poor form, and was eventually dropped from the starting lineup by interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
Sancho’s form improved under new manager Erik ten Hag, and he finished the season with seven goals and three assists in 38 appearances in all competitions. However, he was still not as prolific as many had expected him to be when he joined United for £73 million from Dortmund in 2021.
Will Sancho Make An Exit From Manchester United In January?
Sancho has not had the best start to his career at United. He has struggled to find a consistent role in the team, and he has not been able to replicate the form he showed at Borussia Dortmund. However, Sancho has also shown flashes of his brilliance at Old Trafford. He has the potential to be a world-class player, and he was hoping to kick on under ten Hag this season.
Unfortunately that does not seem to be the case given that ten Hag has mostly utilised him as an impact substitute in the following season, needless to mention that Mason Mount poses a significant threat to his position as well. Following immense competition in the attacking department, and after falling down the pecking order, Sancho remains frustrated with the lack of play time.
Hence, we can expect the former Dortmund forward to make an exit from Old Trafford in the January transfer window. Bayern Munich will be an exciting opportunity for the forward but other potential suitors will not make it easy for the German giants to secure his services. Nonetheless, the Red Devils remain open to selling him as that remains the only viable option beneficial to both parties.
