In a recent report, Defensa Central revealed that Barcelona are facing competition from Real Madrid for Girona talent Savio Moreira who is currently playing on loan from Troyes. It has been claimed that the Catalan outfit are among the clubs hoping to land the Brazilian wide player next year.
Savio’s Impressive Loan Spell At Girona So Far
Savio is having a decent loan spell at Girona this season as he has put in a few eye-catching displays for them in La Liga. The talented teenager has found the back of the net once and secured two assists in five matches for the Spanish outfit during this campaign across multiple competitions.
The 19-year-old has proven himself to be a decent contributor in the opponent’s half and has done well to average 1.5 shots, 1.2 interceptions and 2.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He was even accurate when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass success rate of 83.6% in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored).
Savio is under contract at his parent club Troyes until the summer of 2027. Hence, Barcelona will have to make a convincing offer if they want to win the race for his services next year.
Barcelona Face Competition From Real Madrid For Savio: Is He Worth The Fight?
Savio is a decent dribbler with the ball and can even engineer a few promising chances for others around him on the attacking end of the pitch. He can even shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range.
The Brazilian prospect has also added a few goals and assists to his game this season which should give him the confidence to go on and become a future star in European football.
At 19, Savio has the potential to become a generational talent. Thus, he would be a great signing for Barcelona boss Xavi to pull off for the long run. He is already familiar with La Liga football and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Nou Camp. With all things considered, Savio will be well worth the fight, so Barca should think about stepping up their chase for the gifted starlet soon.
