Aston Villa will entertain Crystal Palace at Villa Park this Saturday as they look to secure a victory in front of their home supporters. The Villans suffered a 3-0 loss away at Liverpool before the international break which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.
Unai Emery will opt for a 4-4-2 formation once again and is expected to make some changes to his starting XI this weekend. Matty Cash and Nicolo Zaniolo will get a chance to play from the start of this game.
4-4-2 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Crystal Palace
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will operate as Aston Villa‘s goalkeeper after he shipped in three goals in his last appearance in the Premier League. Pau Torres will resume his centre-back partnership with Ezri Konsa on the defensive end of the field as they try to keep the Palace attackers quiet during the game.
Matty Cash will look to impress as the right-back while Lucas Digne focuses on putting in a solid display as the left-back. Emery will ask both of them to be more adventurous than usual as Aston Villa look to go all out for the win this weekend.
Clement Lenglet will provide cover for the centre-half positions on the bench.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara will operate as the holding midfielders as they try to give a good account of themselves at the centre of the park.
John McGinn will try to put in an energetic display on the left flank while Nicolo Zaniolo gets an opportunity to prove his worth as the right-sided wide player. Emery would instruct them to stretch the opposition defence at every chance they get.
Youri Tielemans will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Ollie Watkins and Moussa Diaby will lead the charge for the Villans up top. Both of them would be hungry to find the back of the net after shooting blanks versus Liverpool before the international break.
Jhon Duran will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter if Aston Villa are in need of a goal by then.
