Newcastle United will welcome Burnley at St. James’ Park this Saturday as they look to secure a win at home in the Premier League. The Magpies managed to secure a narrow 1-0 win over Manchester City in the EFL Cup recently which will give them a ton of confidence ahead of this game.
Eddie Howe will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a lot of tweaks to his first XI for this game. Callum Wilson will once again spearhead the Tyneside club’s attack up top.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Nick Pope will play in between the sticks for the Magpies after securing a clean sheet versus Man City in midweek. Fabian Schar will continue to function alongside Sven Botman at the centre of Newcastle’s backline as they try to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.
Kieran Trippier will keep his place as the right-back while Dan Burn hopes to prove his worth on the other side as the left. Both of them will get a chance to express themselves in the Burnley half.
Jamaal Lascelles will offer cover for the centre-back positions on the bench.
Midfield
Elliot Anderson, Bruno Guimaraes and Sean Longstaff will function as Howe’s primarily central midfielders as they try to give a good account of themselves at the centre of the park. All three of them need to move the ball with conviction and orchestrate some clear-cut chances in the final third.
Sandro Tonali will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Anthony Gordon will get a chance to shine as the left-winger while Miguel Almiron looks to put his pace to good use on the right flank.
Callum Wilson will lead the charge for the Tyneside outfit on the attacking end of the pitch. He will have to carry most of the goal-scoring workload for his team up top.
Alexander Isak is a major concern ahead of this game and is unlikely to be risked this weened.
