Manchester United will face off against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night as they hope to grind out a good result on the road in the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 3-1 loss at the hands of Brighton and Hove Albion recently which has drained their confidence ahead of this clash.
Erik ten Hag will opt for a 4-3-1-2 formation and is expected to make one change to his first XI for this game. Raphael Varane could be in line to play from the start if he can recover in time for this European contest in Bavaria.
4-3-1-2 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Bayern Munich
Defence
Andre Onana will feature in between the sticks for the Mancunian side after conceding three goals last weekend. Raphael Varane will probably get a chance to function alongside Lisandro Martinez at the centre of Man United’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Diogo Dalot will probably start at right-back while Sergio Reguilon looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them need to be at the top of their game if Man United are to restrict the opposition from creating too many problems from the wide areas.
Victor Lindelof will be available for selection on the bench as he offers cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Scott McTominay, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen will anchor the midfield for Man United as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park.
Bruno Fernandes will get a chance to catch the eye as ten Hag’s attacking midfielder as he aims to create some decent openings for his teammates in the final third.
Alejandro Garnacho will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if asked to do so.
Attack
Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line for Man United in the final third. Both of them need to figure out a way to threaten the Bayern goal in midweek if the Red Devils are to come away with something from the Allianz Arena.
Anthony Martial will have to be content with a place on the bench as he awaits his chance to influence the game in the final quarter of the game if needed.
