Aston Villa will take on Burnley this Sunday as they hope to secure all three points from their travel to Turf Moor. The Villans come into the match on the back of a 5-0 victory over Hibernian in the Europa Conference League play off, so we can expect them to produce a similar display.
Unai Emery will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to keep the changes to a minimum. Ollie Watkins will continue to lead the line while Emiliano Martinez remains in goal.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted XI Vs Burnley
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will function in between the sticks for the Villans after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Pau Torres will form the customary centre-half partnership with Ezri Konsa at the heart of Aston Villa’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Matty Cash will keep his spot at right-back while Lucas Digne hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Emery will ask both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Diego Carlos and Calum Chambers will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Douglas Luiz and Boubacar Kamara will anchor the midfield for the West Midlands club as they look to dominate possession in the middle of the park.
The talented trio of John McGinn, Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey will play just ahead of them as part of Emery’s attack. Both McGinn and Traore will be instructed to get in behind the Hibernian backline at every chance they get.
Bertrand Traore and Youri Tielemans will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if told to do so.
Attack
Ollie Watkins could will lead the line for the Villans on his own up top. He has been in a good run of form recently , so we can expect his confidence to be quite high ahead of this clash at Turf Moor.
