In a recent report, The Athletic provided an update on the future of Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as they have no intention of letting him go this summer. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are not willing to enter offers for the France international this month despite interest from Liverpool to land him.
Tchouameni’s Good Run Of Form In La Liga Last Season
Tchouameni established himself as a decent performer at the Madrid club last season when he put in a series of impressive displays at the heart of Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield. The 23-year-old made 50 appearances for Los Blancos in the previous campaign, picking up four assists in the process across all competitions.
The French sensation was a positive influence in both halves based on his average of 1.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 1.5 clearances, 1.2 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He was even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 93.5% of his attempted passes in the top tier of Spanish football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium will run out in the summer of 2028. Therefore, it makes no sense for Los Blancos to cash in on him this month.
Can Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Afford To Lose Tchouameni?
Tchouameni is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger quickly to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the opponent’s half.
The France international can make some energetic runs with the ball from midfield and can strike the ball with power and accuracy from long range.
Tchouameni remains one of the first names in Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti‘s teamsheet. Hence, it makes no sense for Los Blancos to let him go as they simply cannot afford to lose him this late in the transfer window.
Ancelotti would be better off keeping hold of Tchouameni for the long run as he could help the Madrid giants win even more major honours in the not-too-distant future.
