Arsenal will entertain Nottingham Forest at the Emirates Stadium this Saturday afternoon as they look to kick off this Premier League campaign with a victory at home. The Gunners managed to secure a win on penalties versus Manchester City in the FA Community Shield final recently.
Mikel Arteta will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Leandro Trossard could get a chance to impress from the start while Thomas Partey makes way for him and drops to the bench.
4-3-3 Arsenal Predicted Lineup To Face Nottingham Forest
Defence
Aaron Ramsdale will operate in between the sticks for the Gunners after he shipped in one goal in his last outing. Gabriel will continue to function alongside William Saliba at the centre of Arsenal’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Ben White will play as the right-back while Jurrien Timber looks to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to impress for Arsenal out in the wide areas.
Rob Holding and Kieran Tierney will be available for selection on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard will make up Arteta’s midfield as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
All three of them need to move the ball well so that they can create enough opportunities for Arsenal to win his contest at the Emirates.
Thomas Partey and Fabio Vieira will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to impress in the second half if asked to do so.
Attack
Gabriel Martinelli will hope to put his pace to good use as the left-sided wide player while Bukayo Saka hopes to catch the eye as the right-sided winger.
Leandro Trossard will probably get the nod to lead the charge for the Gunners in the final third. He has to figure out a way to cause a few problems for the Nottingham centre-backs this weekend.
Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith Rowe will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Arsenal are in need of a goal by then.
