In a recent report, El Nacional stated that Tottenham Hotspur have launched a Є100m offer for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo. It is understood that Spurs have identified the Brazilian attacker as a replacement for Harry Kane who left the North London club earlier this summer.
Rodrygo’s Decent Run Of Form In Spanish Football
Rodrygo enjoyed a decent campaign at the Madrid club recently after he produced a series of impressive performances for them on the attacking end of the field. The 22-year-old scored 19 times and secured 11 assists in 57 appearances for Los Blancos last season across all competitions.
The Brazilian sensation led the line well for Real Madrid based on his average of 2.9 shots, 1.4 key passes and 2.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in La Liga. He was even accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half after completing 89.6% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Los Blancos will expire in the summer of 2025. Hence, it would be tough for Tottenham to get a deal done for him in this ongoing transfer window.
Is Rodrygo The Right Fit For Tottenham Hotspur?
Rodrygo can create a yard of space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the pace to cause a lot of trouble for the opposition defenders and has got the eye to play a killer pass in the final third.
The Brazilian talent is primarily a right-winger but can also function as a centre-forward or as a left-sided wide player if required.
Rodrygo will undeniably add more pace and goals to Tottenham boss Angelos Postecoglu’s frontline. He is good enough to form a lethal attacking partnership with Richarlison at the North London club.
At 22, Rodrygo has got a bright future ahead of him which makes him a great fit for Tottenham‘s needs at the moment. Therefore, Spurs should try everything they can to lure him to the English capital before the end of this transfer window. However, there are some concerns over whether he can adjust to the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if Postecoglu can snap him up soon.
