Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns with Burnley at Turf Moor this Saturday afternoon as they look to secure a positive result away from home in the Premier League. Spurs suffered a surprise loss on penalties versus Fulham in the EFL Cup earlier this week which has halted their momentum ahead of this game.
Angelos Postecoglu will set his side up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a few changes to his first XI for this clash. Heung-min Son, James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski will all get a chance to impress from the start of this game.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Burnley
Defence
Guglielmo Vicario will play in goal for the North London giants after he kept a clean sheet in his last league appearance. Micky van de Ven will get a chance to impress alongside Cristian Romero at the centre of Tottenham’s backline. Their main focus would be to keep the home team at bay during the 90 minutes.
Pedro Porro will continue to operate as the right-back while Destiny Udogie looks to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Postecoglu will ask both of them to perform their defensive duties well and make some decent runs going forward.
Ben Davies will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Yves Bissouma will anchor the midfield along with Pape Matar Sarr as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
Ivan Perisic could get an opportunity to shine as the left-sided wide player while Dejan Kulusevski looks to weave his magic from the right flank.
James Maddison will operate in the number ten position for Spurs. He would have to carry most of the creative workload for the visitors in the final third.
Manor Solomon will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if asked to do so.
Attack
Heung-min Son might have to fill in as a makeshift centre-forward up top. The South Korean talent failed to register a goal in his last outing, so he would be eager to make a difference for Tottenham up top.
Richarlison is unlikely to recover in time for this game as he is still recovering from a knock.
