Silva And Alvarez Get 6.5 | Manchester City Players Rated In Tough Loss Vs Arsenal

Manchester City faced off against Arsenal at Wembley Stadium earlier this evening as they looked to earn a good result in the FA Community Shield final. Pep Guardiola‘s men made a decent start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time interval.

Man City made a quick start to the second 45 minutes and scored the opening goal in the 77th minute when Cole Palmer scored with a great finish. However, Leandro Trossard equalised for the Gunners with a deflected strike in injury time as the match ended 1-1 after the full-time whistle.

Man City ended up losing the game on penalties by a 4-1 scoreline.

GK: Stefan Ortega – 6/10

He made a couple of solid saves at the back but won’t be happy after conceding a late goal. Ortega failed to make a stop in the shootout.

LB: Manuel Akanji – 6/10

Akanji made two crucial clearances inside his half but lacked quality going forward.

CM: Rodri – 6/10

The Spaniard was a positive influence in both halves but missed his penalty in the shootout.

CM: Mateo Kovacic – 6/10

He made one key chance in the opponent’s half.

RW: Bernardo Silva – 6.5/10

Silva caught the eye at times and kept his calm to score from the spot in the shootout.

CAM: Julian Alvarez – 6.5/10

He engineered a few inviting chances for others around him but failed to register a goal.

LW: Jack Grealish – 6/10

Grealish struggled to get into the flow of the game.

ST: Erling Haaland – 6/10

He was a quiet presence in the final third for most of the contest.
