Real Madrid will clash heads with Athletic Bilbao at the San Mames Stadium this weekend as they look to go all out in search of the three points away from home in La Liga. Los Blancos missed out on the league title last season, so they would be eager to make a good start to this campaign.
Carlo Ancelotti will set his team up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Rodrygo will probably get a chance to spearhead Real Madrid’s attack up top.
4-3-3 Real Madrid Predicted Lineup To Face Athletic Bilbao
Defence
Thibaut Courtois will feature in goal for Los Blancos as he looks to secure a clean sheet this weekend. Eder Militao will play along with Antonio Rudiger at the centre of Real Madrid’s defence as they look to keep the Bilbao attackers frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
Dani Carvajal will fill in as the right-back while David Alaba hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to make a difference out on the flanks.
Nacho will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni and Federico Valverde will make up Ancelotti’s midfield as they try to dictate the tempo of the game at the centre of the park and orchestrate enough chance for Los Blancos to win this contest.
Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Vinicius Jr. will operate as the left-winger while Jude Bellingham looks to prove his worth as the right-sided wide player. Rodrygo will lead the line for Los Blancos on the attacking third of the pitch.
All three of them need to link up with each other well if the Madrid giants want to secure the victory in La Liga this weekend.
Brahim Diaz will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter of the game if Los Blancos are in need of a goal by then.
