In a recent report, The Daily Mail stated that Real Madrid are pushing to recruit Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes this summer. It has been stated that Los Blancos are keen on bringing the Brazilian centre-back to the Spanish capital before the end of this month.
Gabriel’s Decent Run Of Form In The Premier League Last Season
Gabriel had a solid campaign at the North London club recently as he was responsible for producing a series of impressive performances at the heart of their backline. The 25-year-old was involved in 48 matches for Arsenal last season, netting three goals across various competitions.
The Brazilian talent was a rock at the back and deserves a ton of credit for averaging 1.3 tackles, 0.8 interceptions and 3.2 clearances per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He was even accurate when distributing the ball from inside his half after completing 89.7% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
Gabriel is under contract at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2027. Hence, Real Madrid would have to pay a big fee if they want to sign the Brazilian centre-half this month.
Is Gabriel A Good Option For Real Madrid?
Gabriel can sense the danger quickly and doesn’t mind getting stuck in with some solid tackles to make life tough for the opposition attackers. He can make some timely interceptions for his team inside his half and usually puts his foot through the ball when needed.
We can expect the Brazilian sensation to add more bite and steel to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. He might even help Los Blancos compete across all fronts over the next few years.
At 25, Gabriel will only get better in the coming seasons which makes him an ideal option for the Madrid giants to pursue during this summer transfer period.
