In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Real Madrid are eyeing a move for Bayern Munich ace Alphonso Davies next summer. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are eager to acquire the services of the Canada international in 2024.
Davies’ Impressive Form At The Allianz Arena Last Season
Davies enjoyed a solid campaign at the Bavarian club recently after putting in a series of impressive displays on the left side of their defence. The Canadian sensation registered three goals and eight assists in 38 matches for Bayern last season on all fronts.
The 22-year-old was a reliable performer on the left flank based on his average of 1.7 tackles, 0.9 interceptions, 0.7 clearances, 0.7 shots, 1.7 key passes and 2.7 dribbles per 90 minutes in Bundesliga. He was even accurate when distributing the ball after making 87.2% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal at the German club will run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Los Blancos could potentially snap him up on a cut-price deal at the end of this season.
Is Davies A Good Option For Real Madrid Head Coach Carlo Ancelotti?
Davies is a tough-tackling full-back who can sense the danger quickly to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears his lines when required and can also make a few driving runs with the ball on the left flank. Davies has got the pace to cause a lot of headaches for his marker.
The Canadian sensation can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range and has got the ability to whip in some dangerous crosses from the wide areas. He is primarily a left-back but can also function as a left-winger if asked to do so by his manager.
At 22, Davies has got a very bright future ahead of him. Hence, he would be a great, long-term option for Los Blancos to pursue next year.
We can expect Davies to enhance the quality of Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s first XI. He might even help the Madrid outfit challenge for plenty of major trophies over the next decade. Thus, Ancelotti should focus on trying everything in his power to bring Davies to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in 2024.
