Newcastle United Have Set Their Sights On This Chelsea Full-Back: Should Howe Sign Him?

In a recent interview with NUFC Matters, journalist Ben Jacobs revealed that Newcastle United have set their sights on Chelsea full-back Lewis Hall this summer. Jacobs said,

“Lewis Hall might have to leave as well. Hall is on Newcastle’s radar for sure. I’m not aware that they’ve made a bid at the moment, but the feeling in the Chelsea camp is that he will be available, both he and Trevoh Chalobah are on the market, and Newcastle might look at Hall. He’s younger and one for the future.”

Hall’s Impressive Rise In English Football

Hall has come through the youth ranks of Chelsea before going on to break out as a first-team starter at the West London club. The 18-year-old has already made 18 senior appearances for the Blues thus far, picking up one assist in the process across various competitions.

The Slough-born talent has caught the eye with his performances on the left side of Chelsea’s backline. His current contract at the London club will run out in the summer of 2026, so Newcastle will have to pay a big fee if they want to sign the talented full-back in this ongoing transfer window.

Should Newcastle United Head Coach Eddie Howe Sign Hall This Summer?

Hall is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when needed and is a decent dribbler with the ball as well on the left flank.

The English talent can create a few inviting chances for his teammates in the opponent’s half. Thus, it is only logical for Newcastle boss Eddie Howe to try and sign him during this summer transfer window.

At 18, the future looks quite promising for Hall in English football. He is already good enough to play a crucial role in Howe’s squad at St. James’ Park in the upcoming campaign.
