In a recent report, The Northern Echo stated that Newcastle United are hoping to land Chelsea defender Lewis Hall. It has been mentioned that the Magpies are trying to seal a move for the English full-back during this summer transfer window.
Hall’s Impressive Rise In English Football
Hall has come through the youth ranks of Chelsea and has done well to make himself a useful presence in their squad. The 18-year-old has made 12 senior appearances for the Blues thus far but is yet to score or assist a goal for them across multiple competitions.
The English talent has caught the eye with his performances in English football but is yet to nail down a regular starting spot at Stamford Bridge.
His current contract at the West London club is set to run out in the summer of 2026. Hence, Newcastle would struggle to land him on a cut-price deal in this ongoing transfer window.
Should Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe Get Hall On Board?
Hall was a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t hesitate to put his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and can even make a few driving runs with the ball out in the wide areas. Hall is also proficient at delivering a few inviting crosses into the opponent’s penalty box when he is playing with confidence on the pitch.
The Slough-born sensation is primarily a left-back but can also operate as a left-sided wide player or as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so.
Someone with Hall’s skillset will undeniably enhance the quality of Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe’s first XI. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting spot at St. James’ Park in the coming seasons.
At 18, Hall has the potential to become a world-class footballer in his position someday. Hence, it makes sense for the Magpies to go all out to get the English defensive ace on board before the end of this transfer window. He will be a great, long-term signing for the Tyneside club if Howe can devise a way to get a deal done for him soon.
