Manchester City entertained Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to earn maximum points at home in the Premier League. Man City made a good start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 31st minute when Julian Alvarez scored with an excellent strike. Pep Guardiola‘s men went into the half-time break 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Man City sat on their lead well in the second half and managed to earn a narrow 1-0 victory in front of their home fans.

The Portuguese talent dealt with the danger when needed and was accurate with his passing.

Gvardiol performed his defensive duties well and completed one decent dribble as well.

The Spanish sensation anchored the midfield with conviction and made a few promising runs with the ball.
CM: Mateo Kovacic – 7/10
Kovacic made a couple of exciting runs with the ball from midfield and worked hard at both ends of the field.
RW: Phil Foden – 8.5/10
Foden made a lot of inviting chances for others around him and did everything but score tonight.
CAM: Julian Alvarez – 7.5/10
The Argentine talent caught the eye at times and managed to score the only goal of the game with a brilliant strike in the 31st minute.
LW: Jack Grealish – 7/10
He came back to defend when needed and was always willing to run with the ball.
ST: Erling Haaland – 6.5/10
Haaland was not shy of having a strike at goal but there was no goal for him tonight.
