Aston Villa faced off against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park earlier this evening as they hoped to earn a win on the road in the Premier League. The Villans made a poor start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the sixth minute when Sandro Tonali got his name on the scoresheet. Moussa Diaby equalised for Aston Villa just five minutes later. However, Unai Emery’s men conceded another goal in the 16th minute when Alexander Isak found the back of the net. The West Midlands outfit went into the half-time break 2-1 down on the scoreline.
The visitors were lackluster in the second half and conceded three more times as Isak scored again for Newcastle in the 58th minute before Callum Wilson and Harvey Barnes also got in on the goal-scoring act for the home side. The contest ended with Aston Villa suffering a humiliating 5-1 loss away from home.
