In a recent print edition, Ekstra Bladet claimed that Arsenal are among the clubs hoping to land Eintracht Frankfurt ace Jesper Lindstrøm. It has been revealed that the Gunners will have to rival Liverpool, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, RB Leipzig, Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli in pursuit of the Danish playmaker this summer.
Lindstrom’s Decent Form In Bundesliga Last Season
Lindstrom enjoyed a good campaign at Frankfurt as he was responsible for putting in a few productive performances for them in Bundesliga. The Taastrup-born sensation was involved in 38 matches for the German club last season, scoring nine times and earning four assists across all fronts.
The Danish talent was a good contributor in the final third based on his average of 1.7 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in Bundesliga football. However, he was a bit careless when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half after making 67.9% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the German club runs out in the summer of 2026. Hence, Arsenal will have to make a sizable offer if they want to win the race for his services.
Should Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta Snap Lindstrom Up This Summer?
Lindstrom can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range and has got the vision to create some decent plays for others around him in the final third. He can even make a few clever runs with the ball in the opposition half.
We can expect the Danish sensation to bring more energy and dynamism to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta’s frontline. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also function as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so by his manager.
At 23, Lindstrom has what it takes to become a world-class player in his position someday. He might even help the North London club challenge for some major honours over the next few years.
The Denmark international is good enough to rival Martin Odegaard for a regular starting spot at the Emirates Stadium next season. Thus, the Gunners would be wise to try everything in their power to snap Lindstrom up before the end of this summer transfer window.
