West Ham United will take on Chelsea as they welcome them to Stamford Bridge on Sunday, hoping to secure all three points. In their opening matches, both teams came from behind to end in a draw. Under the guidance of David Moyes, the Hammers held Bournemouth to a tie, and Chelsea managed to equalise against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
David Moyes will set his team up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could name a strong starting XI for this game. Michail Antonio will lead the line for the East London club on the attacking end of the pitch.
4-2-3-1 West Ham United Predicted XI Vs Chelsea
Defence
Alphonse Areola will feature in between the sticks for the Hammers as he looks to secure a clean sheet away from home. Kurt Zouma will operate alongside Nayef Aguerd at the centre of the West Ham backline as they look to keep things tidy at the back during the game.
Vladimir Coufal will fill in at right-back while Emerson Palmieri hopes to catch the eye as the left-back. Both of them would be eager to put in a good display defensively and offer support in the final third.
Thilo Kehrer and Ben Johnson will be named on the bench as they offer cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse will anchor the midfield for West Ham as they try to win possession at the centre of the park.
Pablo Fornals and Tomas Soucek will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Said Benrahma will get the nod to impress as the left-winger while Jarrod Bowen looks to give a good account of himself on the right flank. Both of them need to figure out a way to get in behind the opponent’s backline at every chance they get.
Lucas Paqueta will operate as the advanced attacking midfielder trying to create chances in front of the goal going deep into the final third. Michail Antonio will spearhead David Moyes’ attack up top. He will be expected to be a potent threat in front of the opposition goal.
Danny Ings will have to be content with a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the contest in the latter stages if told to do so.
