Defence
Nick Pope will operate in goal for the Magpies as he hopes to keep things solid at the back this weekend. Fabian Schar could get a chance to impress alongside Sven Botman at the centre of Newcastle’s defence as they look to keep a clean sheet during the 90 minutes.
Kieran Trippier will be a nailed-on starter at right-back while Dan Burn hopes to put in a solid performance as the left-back. Both of them would be keen on getting forward and joining in on the attack at every chance they get.
Jamaal Lascelles will be named on the bench as he provides cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton will make up Newcastle’s midfield as they try to dominate the ball at the centre of the park and engineer some decent chances to win this clash.
Joe Willock is unlikely to recover in time for this game. However, Elliot Anderson will be available for selection on the bench as he awaits his chance to influence the game in the second half if asked to do so.

Anthony Gordon will get a chance to catch the eye as the left-sided wide player. Miguel Almiron would be eager to make a difference for Newcastle on the right flank. As mentioned earlier, Alexander Isak will lead the charge for the Magpies up top. He could be eager to find the back of the net versus the Aston Villa defence this weekend.
Callum Wilson will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if needed.
