In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo claimed that Real Madrid are willing to include a 20 percent sell-on clause to win the race for Fenerbahce talent Arda Guler. It is understood that Los Blancos are facing stiff competition from Barcelona in pursuit of the Turkish starlet this summer.
Guler’s Decent Numbers In Turkish Football
Guler enjoyed a decent campaign at the Turkish club as he was responsible for putting in a series of impressive performances for them in the final third. The 18-year-old featured in 35 matches for Fenerbahce last season, scoring six goals and earning seven assists in all competitions.
The Turkish playmaker was a reliable contributor in the opponent’s half based on his average of 1.7 shots, 2.0 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig. He was even accurate when interchanging possession with his teammates, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 85% in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current deal with Fenerbahce will run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, Los Blancos would have no choice but to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Guler ahead of the new campaign.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Move In For Guler?
Guler has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball as well on the attacking end of the field. He excels at finding space for himself and can strike the ball with venom and accuracy from long range. Guler mainly functions in the number ten position but can also function as a box-to-box midfielder or as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so.
The Ankara-born youngster has the potential to become a future star in European football. Thus, Real Madrid would do well to arrange a move for him during this summer transfer period.
Guler is already good enough to serve as a sporadic presence in Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti‘s match-day squad. Plus, he could help the Madrid giants compete across all fronts in the coming seasons. Hence, it makes sense for Los Blancos to move in for Guler before the end of this transfer window.
