In a recent report, Corriere dello Sport mentioned that Newcastle United have made a £82m bid for Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer. It has been claimed that the Magpies have launched a big move to bring the Georgian winger to St. James’ Park before the start of the new season.
Kvaratskhelia’s Impressive Record At Naples Last Season
Kvaratskhelia enjoyed a stellar campaign at Napoli after he produced a lot of match-winning performances as a key member of their attack. The 22-year-old registered 14 goals and 17 assists in 43 matches for the Naples club last season in various competitions.
The Georgian sensation gave a good account of himself in the final third based on his average of 2.5 shots, 1.6 key passes and 2.2 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He even distributed the ball relatively well as he made 83.7% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Naples club will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, it is no surprise that Newcastle are willing to make such a big offer to convince Napoli to sell their prized asset in this off-season.
Will Kvaratskhelia Be A Dream Signing For Newcastle United Boss Eddie Howe?
Kvaratskhelia can create a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in on-target. He can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from all ranges and has got the vision to play a few decisive passes in the final third. The Georgia international is an excellent dribbler with the ball as well and hardly gives away possession cheaply for his team in the opponent’s half.
Someone with Kvaratskhelia’s skillset will undoubtedly bring plenty of goals and creativity to Newcastle boss Eddie Howe’s attack. He could even help the Magpies compete for a major trophy or two in the coming seasons.
Therefore, Kvaratskhelia would be a dream signing for the Tyneside club as he has what it takes to be a generational talent. At 22, the Georgian wing wizard will only get better in the coming seasons. Thus, Howe should focus on getting a deal done for him before the end of this summer transfer period.
