In a recent tweet, journalist Javi Miguel mentioned that Barcelona are still keeping tabs on Tottenham Hotspur ace Giovani Lo Celso this summer. It has been revealed that the Catalan club have identified the Argentine midfielder as a priority target for this summer transfer window.
El siguiente en salir sera Nico. Despues les llegara el turno a Lenglet, Dest y Kessie. Ferran sigue en el mercado pero no esta clara su marcha. Lo Celso y Cancelo siguen siendo los refuerzos numero uno en la lista

Lo Celso’s Impressive Loan Spell At Villarreal Recently
Lo Celso enjoyed a decent loan spell at Villarreal last season when he put in a run of eye-catching displays for them at the centre of the park. The Argentine sensation registered two goals and three assists in 29 matches for the Yellow Submarine in the previous campaign across various competitions.
The 27-year-old was a reliable performer at the heart of Villarreal’s midfield based on his average of 1.5 tackles, 1.4 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in La Liga. He even distributed possession with conviction after completing 86.5% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via whoscored).
Lo Celso’s current contract at the Spanish club will expire in the summer of 2025. Hence, Barcelona would have to make a convincing offer if they want to bring him on board soon.
Should Barcelona Boss Xavi Snap Lo Celso Up?
Lo Celso is a tough-tackling midfielder who can make a few driving runs with the ball going forward. He is a technically gifted footballer and has got the vision to orchestrate some meaningful openings for others around him in the opposition half.
The Argentine sensation can strike the ball purely and with venom from long range but needs to add a few more goals and assists to his game. He mainly operates as a box-to-box midfielder but can also play in the number ten position if needed.
Lo Celso will definitely enhance the quality of Xavi’s midfield if the Barcelona boss can devise a way to bring him to the Nou Camp in this off-season. He knows La Liga well by now and is well-equipped to make an instant impact at the Catalan club.
Thus, it makes a lot of sense for Xavi to try and snap Lo Celso up during this summer transfer period as he has what it takes to help Barca challenge for some major silverware over the next few years.
