In a recent interview with Give Me Sport, journalist Paul Brown claimed that Arsenal have set their sights on Gremio midfielder Bitello this summer. Brown said,
“Arsenal are trying to sign another midfielder. At the moment, the favourite is Bitello from Brazil.
“Edu knows him very well and has watched him a few times already. I think he’s 23 years old and is expected to have a very bright future and wouldn’t cost the earth.
“I don’t believe Arsenal have actually made a firm bid to sign him yet, but I think that’s the next player that they might be trying to target.”
Bitello’s Good Form In Brazilian Football
The 23-year-old came up the youth ranks of Gremio before proving his worth as a decent performer for their first team in recent years. Bitello has featured in 83 matches for the Brazilian outfit so far, netting 16 goals and securing seven assists across all fronts.
The Brazilian midfield ace has managed to impress with his performances at the centre of the park. However, he might struggle to cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if the Gunners decide to bring him on board in this off-season.
Bitello’s current deal at Gremio will run out at the end of 2025. Hence, Arsenal will have to launch a convincing offer if they want to recruit him this summer.
What Will Bitello Bring To Arsenal?
Bitello is a technically gifted footballer who can make a few driving runs with the ball from midfield. He can strike the ball with venom and accuracy from long range.
The Brazilian sensation has got the eye to play a few decisive passes on the attacking end of the field. Someone of his skillset will no doubt enhance the quality of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta‘s squad even further ahead of the new season.
Bitello will bring more goals and creativity to Arteta’s midfield department at the North London club. At 23, the Brazilian midfield ace will only get better in the future. He will also help the Gunners to compete across all fronts in the coming seasons. Thus, Arteta should focus on getting a deal done for Bitello in this ongoing transfer window.
