Inter Miami are an American soccer club and are based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 2018, the team was founded before they decided to join Major League Soccer just two years later.
Inter use the DRV PNK Stadium for their home games in the MLS. They recently clinched a sixth-place finish in their conference which remains the best achievement of the club’s young history.
The American team are yet to win a major trophy at the highest level and would be eager to get rid of that unwanted record, especially after Lionel Messi’s arrival recently.
Lionel Messi decided to sign for the MLS club which goes to show just how much the organisation are willing to invest in players in search of success in American football.
Following Messi’s blockbuster arrival this summer, let’s find out more about Inter Miami and its current owners, Miami Freedom Park LLC.
Who Is The Owner Of Inter Miami?
Inter Miami is owned by Miami Freedom Park LLC. It was formed in 2013 with David Beckham, Miami-based Bolivian businessman Marcelo Claure, Masayoshi Son and brothers Jorge and Jose Mas making up the ownership group (Miami Herald).
In 2021, David Beckham and the Mas brothers bought out Claure and Son’s stakes in the consortium. Later, Ares Management has also been included in the ownership group.
Lionel Messi‘s arrival will surely give everyone associated with Inter Miami a boost as they look to end their five-year wait for a major trophy next season. As for Inter Miami’s owners, they would have to invest heavily in acquiring a few more top players if they want to grow the club into a household name in American soccer over the next few years. Still, there is no denying that the Inter Miami fans have every reason to be optimistic about their team’s chances in the upcoming MLS campaign.
