In a recent report, Sky Sports claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eager to land Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo this summer. It has been mentioned that Spurs are showing interest in securing the services of the English centre-back in this off-season.
Adarabioyo’s Impressive Form In The Premier League
Adarabioyo enjoyed a decent campaign at Craven Cottage as he has produced a handful of promising displays for Fulham on the defensive third of the pitch. The 25-year-old has scored one goal in 29 matches for the Cottagers this season across multiple competitions.
The Manchester-born talent has been a dominant presence at the back based on his average of 1.2 tackles, 1.0 interceptions and 5.5 clearances per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has also taken care of the ball when distributing possession from the back based on his pass completion rate of 82.4% in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract with the Cottagers will run out in the summer of 2024. Hence, it makes sense for Tottenham to launch a cut-price move for him during this summer transfer window.
What Will Adarabioyo Add To Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglou’s Team?
Adarabioyo is a decent tackler of the ball and can read the danger quickly to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot. The English talent can also play his way out from the back. Adarabioyo is primarily a central defender but can also fill in as a right-back if told to do so. He can also use his strong 1.96m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels at both ends of the field.
Someone with Adarabioyo’s skillset will no doubt be a great signing for Spurs this summer. He is good enough to challenge for a regular starting spot at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium next season.
Adarabioyo will add more bite and steel to Angelos Postecoglou’s defence. He might even help the North London giants challenge for some major trophies over the next few years.
The Fulham talent already knows the Premier League well by now and won’t take much time to settle into life at Tottenham.
