In a recent report, Takvim stated that Arsenal are in talks to land Galatasaray full-back Sacha Boey. It has been claimed that the Gunners are eyeing a move to recruit the French defender this summer.
Boey’s Impressive Season In Turkish Football
Boey is having a bright campaign at the Turkish club after putting in a handful of impressive displays on the right side of their defence. The 22-year-old has found the back of the net once and earned four assists in 33 appearances for Galatasaray this season in various competitions.
The French sensation has been a decent presence at both ends of the pitch as he is averaging 2.8 tackles, 1.6 interceptions, 2.0 clearances, 0.8 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig. He has even been excellent when distributing possession from the right flank based on his pass success rate of 79% in the Turkish first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Galatasaray will run out in the summer of 2025. Thus, the Gunners will have to make a sizable offer if they want to land the French talent when the transfer window reopens later this summer.
What Will Boey Add To Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta’s Team?
Boey is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger quickly to secure possession back for his team. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer of the ball as well. The French sensation has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third. He can also make some driving runs with the ball on the right flank.
Boey will undoubtedly enhance the quality of Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta‘s match-day squad. The Frenchman has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Emirates Stadium next season as he will add some healthy competition for Ben White at the North London club.
We can expect Boey to add more depth to the Gunners‘ squad and help them compete across all competitions in the coming seasons. However, there are some concerns over whether he would be able to cope with the physical nature and high intensity of regular Premier League football in the English capital.
