West Ham United will clash heads with AZ Alkmaar at the AFAS Stadium this Thursday night as they look to defend their 2-1 advantage from the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League semi-final tie. The Hammers suffered a poor 2-0 loss away at Brentford recently which has halted their momentum ahead of this game.
David Moyes will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and could be inclined to name a strong team for this game. Kurt Zouma and Said Benrahma will both get a chance to impress from the start of this European clash.
4-3-3 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face AZ Alkmaar
Defence
Alphonso Areola will play in between the sticks for the Magpies as he looks to secure a clean sheet on the road. Kurt Zouma will resume his defensive partnership with Angelo Ogbonna at the centre of West Ham’s backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Thilo Kehrer will get an opportunity to catch the eye as the right-back while Aaron Cresswell hopes to give a good account of himself on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them would be instructed to defend their penalty box well so that the Hammers can keep the opposition at bay in midweek.
Midfield
Declan Rice, Lucas Paqueta and Tomas Soucek will make up West Ham’s midfield as they hope to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
Rice and Paqueta will have to carry some of the creative workload for the visitors if they want to earn a victory away from home this week.
Manuel Lanzini and Flynn Downes will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if needed.
Attack
Said Benrahma will function as the left-sided wide player while Jarrod Bowen looks to put his pace to good use on the right flank.
Danny Ings will lead the charge for the East London club in the final third. He has to figure out a way to threaten the opponent’s goal.
Divin Mubama will be named on Moyes’ bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter of the game if the Hammers are in need of a goal by then.
