Newcastle United faced off against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this afternoon as they looked to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Blues made a good start to the contest and got their noses ahead in the ninth minute via Anthony Gordon’s goal. However, Kieran Trippier scored an unfortunate own goal just 18 minutes later as both teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.
The two sides canceled each other out in the second half as the contest finished with the Magpies being held to a 1-1 draw away from home.

He made a few solid saves at the back but won’t be happy after conceding a goal in the first half.

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the field and was a good presence on the ball as well.

Botman cleared the danger when required and was accurate with his passing.

He came back to defend when required but struggled to influence the game in the opponent’s half.
CM: Anthony Gordon – 7/10
Gordon worked his socks off at the centre of the park and scored the opening goal in the ninth minute.
CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 7/10
He was a positive influence at both ends of the field and passed the ball well from midfield.
CM: Elliot Anderson – 7/10
Anderson was a bright presence on the ball and has got an assist to show for his efforts.
RW: Miguel Almiron – 7/10
He made a few decent runs with the ball but failed to score or create a goal.
ST: Alexander Isak – 6.5/10
Isak had some lively moments in the final third but struggled to threaten the Chelsea goal.
LW: Allan Saint-Maximin – 7.5/10
He made plenty of dangerous runs with the ball and managed to engineer a few inviting chances in the final third.
