Real Madrid Are Hoping To Land This Inter Milan Forward: Good Option For Ancelotti?

In a recent report, The Athletic revealed that Real Madrid are hoping to land Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the Argentine striker to the Spanish capital this summer.

Martinez’s Excellent Form In Serie A This Season

Martinez is having a great campaign at San Siro as he has put in a series of impressive displays as the focal point of Inter’s attack. The 25-year-old has banged in 28 goals and grabbed 11 assists in 55 appearances for the Italian side this season on all fronts.

The Argentine sensation has led the line really well by averaging 3.4 shots, 1.2 key passes and 0.8 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. However, he has to improve his link-up play in the final third after completing 75.4% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Italian club is set to run out in the summer of 2026. Hence, it won’t be easy for Los Blancos to land him on the cheap this summer.

Is Martinez A Good Option For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?

Martinez can create space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He has proven his worth as a great finisher in the final third and has got the eye to set up some promising chances for his teammates up top.

The Argentine sensation is usually quite clever with his movements in and around the opponent’s penalty box but needs to find a way to improve his passing accuracy if he wants to be a success story at a top club like Real Madrid.

Martinez will no doubt add more firepower to Carlo Ancelotti’s attack as long as the player can make a smooth transition to life in Spain. He would serve as an ideal, long-term replacement for Karim Benzema who has entered the twilight years of his playing career at the Madrid club.

With all things considered, Martinez will be a decent option for Real Madrid to consider during this summer transfer window as he has what it takes to help Ancelotti’s side challenge for even more major honours in the coming seasons.
